Squat Till’ You Drop

We try to keep things interesting, and part of that is not sticking with the same formula, week after week. Some formulas work great, but part of why I enjoy showing up each week is that I know the workouts we do are always different. Safe, but different.

This week we went with a well-known template in the form of a tabata (or tabitha? who knows, really), which requires 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest, repeated over a serious of exercises.

The exercises themselves ranged from regular squats, to plank jacks, to a challenging series of movements requiring a squat right into a plank, to our favorite burpees.

Running In Place Is Better With Friends

It’s not groundbreaking stuff, but the combination of short rest periods and challenging movements that required lots of muscle recruitment — well, it left everyone feeling sweaty.

This works because Elin, Beth and I are different people, and we each bring something unique to the table. Working with them has been a blast, and it’s allowed us to reach so many different people with our different styles.

I learn from them, and add bits and pieces of it to the stuff that I come up with. When you combine that with the involvement of our community, it makes it fun to do something different each week.

Raise Your Hands If You Love TABATA!

I can’t wait to see what Beth comes up with next week, and I can’t wait to see more people from our community show up on Zoom to sweat and laugh together for 45 minutes.

Tabata, Tabitha, Senorita? It doesn’t quite matter, what matters is the energy our group brings to each new week.
