I will be completely honest, sometimes when I think of another PR Day I don’t feel as excited and it’s not just the idea of waking up at 3:00 AM to get ready, drive and prepare everything and knowing there are not going to be surprises for everyone. However something always happens at the workouts that changes it all around. The energy I see everyone put in to push and sometime grunt through the workout really is wonderful to see. I don’t care how slow you feel or if you had to modify at times or if you didn’t get your PR, because every single one of you pushed and did more you probably thought you had in you.

That’s the power of PR Day and sometimes it’s easy to forget it when we are on the other side of the camera. It’s beautiful to witness people do things like finish 5 loops for the first time (Hi Carol and Monica!). Or to see father and sun, head to head on the course, within minutes of each other (Dad won this time!). Seeing people make connections with those who are around their speed is always great to see. Even seeing someone new tackle the course and struggle, but never give up is great. Reminds me of the first times I came to a workout like this and how it kicked my ass but I knew I would be back.

Life is full of moments like these that happen all around us. As Ferris Bueller would say (paraphrased), look around and take it all in or you will miss the greatest things in life. Today was amazing and we can’t wait to see you next week!
